Anderson, In - On Saturday, The Steffen Group Inc., the regions premier real estate auction marketing firm, sold at Auction 306.7 Acres of Central Indiana Farmland. The auction was the lifetime assemblage of farmland by the late Byron and Charlotte McCord.

The farms were offered in 11 individual tracts and in any combination.   A large crowd of over 125 people were in attendance, with over 45 registered bidders.  This translated into an aggressive bidding war that lasted for over 3 hours.  At the conclusion of the bidding, the property sold to 7 different Buyers for $3,028,000.00.

Brandon Steffen, President of The Steffen Group, said this auction set record prices for Madison County Farmland.   The Midwest continues to see strong demand for quality farm land; creating strong prices as the local farmers compete for the land against institutions and large real estate investors.
